Taking in a Scent

After a rainy morning at Gateway National Park, I decided to go look for some owl roosts at a park where I have managed to find a few in the past. I didn't find any owls, but I did find this white-tailed deer grazing in one of the clearings in the woods. I don't know if she's smelling to make sure there were no coyotes nearby or what, but after each bite of grass she would turn towards the center of the field, stick her head up and smell.
