Description

This past weekend, I was fortunate to be part of a small team of people allowed onto an island off the coast of Massachusetts, that hosts the state's largest colony of Herons. We counted the nests of Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Little Blue Herons, Black-crowned Night Herons, and Glossy Ibis. The island is only birded once a year, for this annual census. This pair of Great Egrets allowed for a rather interesting composure.
