Between the Branches by Ryser915 Between the Branches by Ryser915
This is a frozen lake off the Charles River. I was standing on a small strip of land between the river and the lake. Through the branches, Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood can be seen.

There's also Beacon, NY., where a beacon once stood atop of a mountain to alert rebels during the Revolution. I know the route from home to Hopewell Junction where we have our family plot. We USED to own property there, but we sold it in the 70's and in the 90's we sold property on the other side of the Hudson.

Fantastic shot. I love your comp, letting us see what the missing people on the bench would see. The comp is well balanced, with "hump" of the buildings on the skyline a beautiful backdrop. Oh, and a really great mono conversion, too. Nice!

I am probably gonna repeat everything that has already been said, but here it goes:
- love the b&w, it really suits the photo
- love the way the trees frame the bench and kinda cover the city line
- love the icy (?) water...

I think Boston is the one place I would live in the states...

well ...

Before reading your comment I already thought,
Wow, this looks very cold.
Great.
Sorry it took me so long, we're buzzy finding back lost relatives who emigrated to Brasil in 1912 !

Beautiful capture. Looks almost like a drawing where the trees overlap the buildings.

What a great shot! I love how the trees frame the bench, drawing attention to it, but they also kind of frame the buildings with the branches that are higher up. :)

Shades are fascinating. And how the light is focused on the middle of the pic.
And i love the water; it's fighting with the cold, not to freeze.
And that lonely bench between the two trees..
Really nice capture :)
I wonder how would it look in the summer time :D
