Ruby-crowned Kinglet (male)by *Ryser915

While birding with =chik1117, we came across this male Ruby-crowned Kinglet. It stuck around for a few minutes, checking us out while simultaneously capturing flying insects. Ruby-crowned Kinglets only occasionally display their crown to the extent that this one did, if they reveal it at all! These absurdly tiny birds are strictly migratory in this area, and will nearly be completely gone in less than a week.
