Description
This is the mature female of a local nesting pair of red-tailed hawks I've been watching since early November of last year. I shot this photo of her taking off while watching her hunt in the Back Bay Fens. She has a research band on her right leg, and I've been trying to find out which organization banded her.

Simply stunning in my opinion. You have managed quite something here getting the depth of field completely accurate and perfect.
My favorite part about this image is undoubtably the "frozen factor" as I call it. It is so full of movement and you have captured it beautifully. The bird is poised and almost unnatural in her stance as she takes off.
The last thing to comment on is the composition. Was the image cropped in any way or is entirely raw? Either way it again is perfect. The slight angle of the bird and her wings draw your eyes towards her beak and face.
Stunning work, and I'll be sure to keep an eye on you for more pieces like this <img src="e.deviantart.com/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />
