Little Blue Heronby *Ryser915

Little Blue Herons only nest in small numbers in Massachusetts (only 5-10 pairs), and only in one specific large heron colony on a little island off the coast of Manchester. Two other birders and I were tasked with censusing the colony. Only one group of birders is allowed on the island once a year (for the census), so I was quite privileged to get out there. No other location in Massachusetts gives you views of Little Blue Herons like this one.
