Heard considerably more often than they are seen, Kentucky Warblers nest in the deciduous forests of the southeastern United States. Occasionally they overshoot their targets during migration, and a few turn up in Massachusetts each year. Unlike most wood warblers, Kentucky Warblers prefer the understory, and nest on the ground. They skulk around in low shrubbery, and sometimes can be incredibly difficult to see.
