While home from school in New Jersey, I woke up early to catch the sunrise. Shortly after the sun completely broke the horizon, the sky changed from a deep red color to an amazing orange, and the snow on the beach began to glow. I crouched down and positioned the sun directly behind the roofs of the cabanas at a local beach club. The snow on the left was over three feet deep, and the faint glowing horizon is the Atlantic Ocean. Waking up at 5:30 am was worth it! The cabanas are all boarded up for the winter, and will be opened up again in the summer.

First Light by =Ryser915 drew me in with it's beautiful soft light and contrast. The yellow hues are warm and inviting. I love the way the light falls on the surface of everything in the photo, bringing out every detail and creating a balanced composition. ( Featured by `PorcelainPoet )
