While home from school in New Jersey, I woke up early to catch the sunrise. Shortly after the sun completely broke the horizon, the sky changed from a deep red color to an amazing orange, and the snow on the beach began to glow. I crouched down and positioned the sun directly behind the roofs of the cabanas at a local beach club. The snow on the left was over three feet deep, and the faint glowing horizon is the Atlantic Ocean. Waking up at 5:30 am was worth it! The cabanas are all boarded up for the winter, and will be opened up again in the summer.
Surfrider Beach Sea Bright, New Jersey March 5, 2009 Daily DeviationGiven 2009-05-21First Light by =Ryser915 drew me in with it's beautiful soft light and contrast. The yellow hues are warm and inviting. I love the way the light falls on the surface of everything in the photo, bringing out every detail and creating a balanced composition.
