Description

After a long day at Sandy Hook, I decided to wait until after the sun had set, to see i any Short-eared Owls would come out at dusk. No owls showed themselves, so I just shot the sunset. This is a 4.5 minute exposure 30 minutes after sunset. It was nearly completely dark out, but apparently there was still some faint light and color left from the nice sunset. Due to its strong tidal flow, Horseshoe Cove held some of the only remaining unfrozen water on the bay side of the peninsula, and ice clung to anything protruding from the water.

The mist on the water gives the whole deviation a calm and serene feeling, and makes it seem mysterious, and like it is keeping secrets hidden from you. the colour is spectacular, and grabs your attention. ths ice on the piece of wood gives the feeling of it being cold. the largest piece of wood is very well placed, and you have used the Rule of Thirds (The Golden Rule) very well, drawing the viewers eye. the rocks in the bottom right corner add texture to the piece and gives it the impression of firm ground outside a sea of mist. gorgoues picture, i really enjoyed critiquing it, and just viewing it in general.
