Brant Feeding

With rain and sustained winds between 35 and 45 mph, this brant was having a very difficult time feeding, and was getting violently tossed around in the surf. After repeatedly getting slammed with waves, it finally grabbed hold of a little piece of seaweed attached to the bottom and after a few tries, finally managed ripped a piece off and eat it. This brant will remain along the jersey shore until the weather gets warm, when it will return to the arctic circle from where it came.
