Description
The Boreal Chickadee is closely related to our common Black-capped Chickadee, but distinctly different. It is a very rare visitor to Massachusetts from Cananda, and was a nice surprise. Its obvious brown cap and chestnut flanks separate it from the Black-capped Chickadee, as well as its weezy call. It isn't too often that mega rare birds are this cooperative.
