Description
Another environment shot attempt. This is a mature red-tailed hawk soaring low over a meadow in search of prey on a rainy afternoon. After a few failed attack passes, it eventually captured a small snake and flew off to eat. Shot with a Canon 50D and a Canon 100-400mm L.

Overall Vision Originality Technique Impactamazing shot. it captures movement very well. I love how clear the bird is and how extremely defined the feathers are. the composition is ok, though I would love to see some kind of foreground. the colors are exceptional even in the back ground, which helps farther accentuate the hawk. red-tails are fairly common in my area, though this photo captures their grace and power as predators. the trees in the back ground are bright against the grasses, and the hawk is bold against the background.(i think i already said that, but im not gonna backspace!) <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="
